ALEX BUZIK
Alex Buzik is a Director of
Operations for this year’s conference. He graduated from Dartmouth College in
2000 with a BA degree in Biochemistry. Following graduation, Alex worked as an
investment banking analyst in the Global Healthcare Group at Lehman Brothers
focusing on the life sciences and medical device industries. Alex is currently
a first-year Wharton student majoring in health care management and finance. At
Wharton Alex is the Treasurer of the Health Care Club and is a member of the
private equity, golf and scotch clubs.
SHANNON DELAGE
Shannon Delage is Co-Director
of Operations. She is currently a first-year MBA student at The Wharton School
majoring in healthcare management. Prior to Wharton, Shannon worked as a
strategic management consultant at Bain & Company on medical device and
healthcare services projects. Additionally, Shannon joined DaVita, Inc, a
dialysis service provider, in 2003 to design a new people management and team
development process focused on reducing recruiting and retention costs for
skilled registered nurses in the wake of the current nursing shortage. Shannon
graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, with a degree in History and
Literature. Following graduation, she was awarded a one-year fellowship to
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich, Germany where she continued her
research in German cultural studies. Shannon speaks German and French, and she
enjoys skiing, running marathons, and hiking.
SMITA JAIN
Smita Jain is a Director of
Operations for the conference. She is a first year MBA student at the Wharton
school, majoring in Health Care Management and Strategic Management. Smita
graduated with Honors with a Bachelors degree in Applied Science in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1999. Following
graduation, Smita worked for Guidant Corporation's Stent Business Unit in
California. While at Guidant, Smita worked on manufacturing, quality,
pre-clinical research, project management and global product marketing for
multimillion-dollar coronary stent projects. Smita is active with the Wharton
Community Consultants and the Dance Club at Wharton.
JEANNIE LEE
Jeannie is co-Director of
Operations. She is also a first year MBA student at The Wharton School,
majoring in health care management and marketing. This summer, she is
co-leading the Wharton Healthcare International Volunteer Project (WHIVP) in
Capetown, South Africa. Under the sponsorship of Bishop Desmund Tutu, the
WHIVP team has worked with the Cape Province Primary Health Care Centres to
improve budgeting and operations for its health care clinics. Prior to Wharton,
Jeannie consulted with Cap Gemini Ernst and Young in their Revenue Cycle
(Provider) group. She graduated from Duke University, cum laude, majoring in
biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and economics.
