David Brennan,
CEO, AstraZeneca US
As President and Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca US, David Brennan directs all operations of AstraZeneca in the U.S., the company's largest market. Additionally, he is in charge of all North American commercial operations.
Prior to assuming his current position, David Brennan was Senior Vice President, Commercialization and Portfolio Management for AstraZeneca. Before the merger of Astra AB and Zeneca PLC, he was Senior Vice President of Business Planning and Development at Astra Pharmaceuticals L.P., the American subsidiary of Astra AB.
David Brennan began his career in 1975 at Merck and Co., Inc., where he rose from sales representative in the U.S. Division to general manager of Chibret International, a French subsidiary of Merck that specializes in ophthalmics. He held the latter position until 1992, when he joined Astra Merck, a joint venture between Astra AB and Merck. Astra Merck merged in 1998 with Astra USA of Boston to create Astra Pharmaceuticals.
An alumnus of Gettysburg College, David Brennan has a bachelor of arts in business administration.
