Elgar Peerschke Leader of North America Healthcare Practice Group Bain & Company
Elgar Peerschke joined the New York office of Bain & Company in 2002. He is the leader of Bain’s North America Healthcare Practice Group.
Over more than 15 years in consulting, Mr. Peerschke has focused on serving clients in the healthcare industry, primarily pharmaceutical and biotech companies. His clients have also included PBMs, diagnostic/device companies and MCOs. Over the course of that time, he directed numerous projects in strategy, organization, clinical development, and sales and marketing. In addition, he has developed position papers on e/mHealth and the implication on clinical development and sales and marketing initiatives, and value creation in healthcare services.
His numerous projects include working with global pharmacos and biotech companies in rationalizing their clinical and in-line portfolio including BD/L&A implications, developing the best-of-both operating model in a global PMI initiative, developing clinical development plans for early stage potential blockbusters, and understanding the cost benefit trade-offs associated with the sequencing of indications for a novel compound. He has also led teams in diagnosing sales force effectiveness opportunities, developing managed care strategies, and creating global launch and life-cycle management plans for potential blockbuster compounds.
Prior to joining Bain & Company, Inc. Mr. Peerschke was at McKinsey & Company for 13 years where he was a leader of the North American Pharmaceutical/Medical Products Practice. He holds an MBA from New York University and a BA from Rutgers University in Political Science.
