Jeffrey W. Nelson
President, Cardiovascular Division
Thoratec Corporation
Mr. Nelson joined Thoratec Corporation as President, Cardiovascular Division in August 2002. Prior to joining Thoratec, Mr. Nelson worked at Philips Medical Systems (formerly ADAC Laboratories) where he was General Manager of their $400 million nuclear medicine and PET division. During his eight years at ADAC, he served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing management and general management. Mr. Nelson also spent time at Syncor International and Baxter International in various sales and marketing positions and two years in venture capital at Cerulean Venture Fund. He holds a B.S degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University and a Master of Management Degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
