Mark Baiada
Founder and President
Bayada Nurses

Mark Baiada founded Bayada Nurses in 1975 with the mission of helping people have a safe home life with comfort, independence and dignity, despite illness or disability. Mark strongly believed then, as he does today, that people in need deserve skilled, caring, and reliable service. After 29 years, Bayada Nurses now provides home care services and support from over 100 offices in 15 states employing 10,000 caregivers and 1,200 office employees.

Mr. Baiada has a passionate entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help others. In 1999, Mark was selected as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Philadelphia region. As a founding trustee and former president of Samaritan Hospice, he has shared his skill and commitment to position Samaritan as the largest Hospice in southern New Jersey. Mark has also played a key role in helping to start Gatti-Morrison Construction Services in Trooper, PA, Bluestone Software in Mount Laurel, NJ, and Cornerstone Bank in Moorestown, NJ. On the humanitarian side, for 22 consecutive years, rowers with disabilities and athletes with a variety of disabilities have been able to participate in his company sponsored Bayada Regatta on the banks of the Schuykill River in Philadelphia. In addition, in 1999, Mark has joined others in the relief effort in Kosovo by sponsoring 10 Registered Nurses to spend 4-weeks in the Balkans caring for injured people in the region.

Mr. Baiada is a Board member or Trustee in the following organizations: Director, Gatti-Morrison Construction Services, King of Prussia, PA, 1980 to present; Director, Sengen Inc., Mount Laurel, NJ, 1997 to present; Advisory Board, Living Independently for Elders, Philadelphia, PA, 1998 to present; Director, Cornerstone Bank, Moorestown, NJ, 1999 to present; Home Care Advisory Board, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Oak Park Terrace, IL, 1999 to present; Trustee, Loyola College in Maryland, Baltimore, MD, 2000 to present; Board of Overseers, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA, 2000 to present; Executive Advisory Council, School of Business, Rutgers University, Camden, NJ, 2001 to present; Trustee, Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, 2002 to present; and, Director, Geoffrey Lance Foundation, Bala Cynwyd, PA, 2002 to present.

Mark Baiada continues to invest in his ideals and remains committed to his people. "From the very beginning I knew that if I remained committed to my mission, I would be successful," said Mark. "Of course, I also knew that the only way to achieve success was to surround myself with the finest health care providers in the business - the people I refer to as our Heroes on the Home Front."

Mark resides in Moorestown, NJ with his wife Ann. Ann Baiada, RN, CRRN, also serves as the company's Rehabilitation Manager. The couple has five children, Jackie, a RN, David, Kelli, Janice, and Christin. Mark received his MBA degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Business in 1970. His BA was received from Rutgers College in 1969. Prior to founding Bayada Nurses, he was a market researcher for Avon Products, NY, NY and American Thread Company, Stamford, CT.
