Wayne Gattinella
Chief Executive Officer, President and Director, WebMD
Wayne Gattinella is chief executive officer, president and director of WebMD, the most recognized brand of health information and the market leader in online health information for consumers, physicians, health plans and employers.
Mr. Gattinella has been instrumental in leading the successful evolution of the company, solidifying its financial security and significantly expanding its revenues and profitability since taking the online business public in 2005.
Mr. Gattinella joined the organization as president in August 2001, and assumed his current CEO position four years later. He also serves on the board of directors for WebMD.
Prior to WebMD, Mr. Gattinella held senior management positions in companies that include People PC, Merck-Medco (now Medco Health Solutions) and MCI Telecommunications. As executive vice president for Merck-Medco, Mr. Gattinella helped to grow the company’s market position as the leading prescription benefits management company. During his decade with MCI, he led consumer product development, sales and marketing for the national long-distance phone provider during the most competitive period in the long-distance market.
Mr. Gattinella earned a B.S. in marketing and finance from Drexel University and an M.B.A. from St. Joseph's University.
