Neil Patel, MD

Chief Health Officer
Patina

As Chief Health Officer, Neil Patel is responsible for the care Patina provides its patients and their loved ones. Neil is proud to be part of a team building a new model of primary care for adults 65+ that honors the wisdom they’ve accumulated and how they want to experience aging and care.

Prior to joining Patina, Neil was on the founding team of Iora Health, a physician-led primary care company that served tens of thousands of patients in eight states until a $2.1B acquisition by One Medical and subsequently Amazon. He also helped start the Atlantic City Special Care Center, an innovative practice serving chronically ill union workers in the Mid-Atlantic region. The care center was featured in Atul Gawande’s “The Hot Spotters” article in The New Yorker magazine in 2010, focusing on how advanced primary care, rooted in trusted relationships, could deliver tremendous value, improve clinical outcomes and decrease costs.

Neil received a doctorate in medicine from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a bachelor’s degree in biology from The College of New Jersey.

At home, Neil loves to be surrounded by music. Married to a wonderful bluegrass musician, they’re raising three children – all budding singers and dancers.
