Kapil Parakh is a practicing cardiologist and a Senior Medical Lead at Google, where he has helped launch products that reach over a billion people. He’s pioneered novel uses of artificial intelligence and led groundbreaking partnerships with organizations like the World Health Organization and the American Heart Association.

In addition to his work in tech, Kapil sees patients part-time at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC, and teaches an award-winning course on health innovation at Georgetown University, where he is an Adjunct Associate Professor.

Prior to Google, he served as a White House Fellow and principal health advisor to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He co-founded Health for America, a nationally recognized nonprofit focused on health innovation, and was Director of Heart Failure at Johns Hopkins Bayview, where he developed novel care delivery models.

A clinician-scientist, Kapil has published over 40 papers, many exploring the psychosocial dimensions of heart disease. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Advanced Heart Failure, and holds an MD, MPH, and PhD. His book, Searching for Health, was published by Johns Hopkins University Press.
